Foundations Year Work
The works shown below were created during my first year at RISD in a collection of classes labeled Experimental Foundation Studies (EFS). EFS consists of two semesters each of Design, Drawing, and Spatial Dynamics. I also took a class over Wintersession called Merging Worlds, which was basically an introduction to perspective and painting in Photoshop. The works below cover a vast variety of mediums, themes, and processes, mainly dictated by the whims of my professors. The year is true to its title, and this body of work expresses quite a bit of experimentation, exploring methods of making that I never would have ventured into otherwise, and not working much with my comfortable mediums. As most RISD students do, I have a love-hate relationship with the work from this period of my life.
